Paul 'Bear' Bryant was an American college football player and coach who died on January 26, 1938. Paul Bryant retired and died at aged 69, he died of a massive heart attack four weeks after retiring. He was the head coach of the University of Alabama football team. He won six national championships and thirteen conference championships as the head coach of the University of Alabama. Upon his retirement in 1982, he held the record for most wins as head coach in collegiate football history with 323 wins.
