Reflection: I agree with what this is stating. If you lack sleep, you're body is going to be exhausted all the time and you're body is going to crash. Not only will it take a toll on your body but also your mind. You're going to be overworking it too much and you're not going to be able to focus or work at your full potential as if you were when you are well rested.

Oriental Medicine Doctor

Duties and Responsibilities:

Most oriental medicine practitioners work in a hospital or private clinic. Most procedures involve the use of calming relaxation techniques, so it is important for a practitioner to make sure the room and environment is relaxing for the patient. Some rooms and procedures may involve candlelight or incense, so it is the practitioner’s job to make sure the environment and atmosphere is just right for the patient.

Some oriental medicine practitioners work in hospitals where the environment can become stressful or tense if patients are dealing with extreme pain or illness. Hospital practitioners will need to be able to maintain a calm disposition with patients even in a stressful or uncomfortable situation. It is their job to relax the patient and help to quickly treat any extreme pain.

Salary: starting at $61,000

Education:

Education and training requirements vary state to state for becoming an oriental medicine practitioner. Some practitioners are licensed to be a physician’s assistant and then take classes to become certified in oriental medicine. Most practitioners earn a Bachelor’s degree in biology or another medical related field, then go on to fill state requirements for practicing oriental medicine. Most states require students to work as an intern or apprentice for a specific number of hours in order to qualify for certification, and then have them take an examination to become certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
Reflection: I would not like to be an oriental medicine doctor because it doesn't interest me.

Wellness Professional

Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties of a wellness specialist are to educate the public on how to improve their daily choices, prevent illness or access local resources. The method should be customized to the audience. For example, a wellness specialist working for a company may hold a seminar and make break room posters on preventative care, ergonomic seating, and the importance of exercise to productivity and motivation. Beyond this direct outreach, a wellness specialist may advise employers on the best insurance provider to meet employee needs. When working for the city, a specialist may focus on a larger array of concerns from a local outdoor exercise options to diabetes care facilities in the area.

Salary: $55,254

Education:

A wellness specialist often has a degree in a related discipline such as nursing, fitness or sports medicine. There are no specific requirements, but many positions require on-the-job training in addition to certification from accredited wellness organizations such as the International Association of Wellness Professionals.

Reflection: I would not like to be one because it does not interest me.

Reflection: I believe this statement is true. Coward people are afraid so they're always wondering if it's safe for them. If it's not they probably won't do it. Like trying to succeed, if they think it's better to just play it safe and not take a risk. Expediency think if it's inconvenient in any way, they're not gonna try or try to be immoral to get what they want, etc. Although, they know it's not right to be immoral in any way and have to do things the right and proper way. Vanity take pride in appearance and such things. If it isn't popular, they're going to stay away from it. If being a bum and doing drugs and such is cool, they'll do that. Instead of trying to succeed and do what's better for them and their future, they rather do what's popular. But, your conscience will always tell you what's right. Your conscience doesn't care whether what you wish to do is popular or not, it will tell you to do what's right. Always listen to your conscience because no matter the situation it will tell you to do what's right. Choose the right and listen to your conscience and you will succeed.

Radiologic Technologist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Radiologic Technologists use x-ray machines, magnetic resonance scanners, positron emission scanners, and other technologically advanced machines to help diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries under the direction of a physician. They are responsible for explaining and getting patients ready for radiological tests and treatment that will be performed. They place the equipment at the right distance and right angle from the patient to make the appropriate images for the physician. Radiographers also assist physicians in performing sophisticated procedures.

Average Salary: $24,000 - $36,000

Educational Requirements:

Students should take the most challenging science, math, and English courses available in high school. To become a registered radiologic technologist, students must complete a two year training program in a hospital or school.

A high school diploma or GED certificate is required for entry into these programs.

Reflection: I wouldn’t like to be a radiologic technologist because it doesn’t interest me.

Reflection: I believe this statement is true. If you believe in yourself and think highly of yourself, you'll most likely succeed. How you do in life really depends on how you view things. Don't allow little things or rude people get to you. Try to see the bright side of things.

Reflection: I agree with this quote. If you have tons of money and a huge house and a family, yet you're cheating on your wife and you got all that money and that house through stealing and being a crook that doesn't make you a good and trustworthy person. On the other hand, if you're not so rich and struggling but you're noble and always tell the truth. If you, are respectful to people, you are a good person and better person than the rich one.

Psychiatric Aide - Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:

Psychiatric aides and technicians help care for mentally ill, disabled, or infirm people who are confined to hospitals, mental facilities, and residential care facilities.  They work under the supervision of mental health professionals or nurses.  They often work in hospitals, social service centers, crisis centers, schools, and substance abuse facilities.  Psychiatric technicians usually have more formal training and responsibilities than aides.  Psychiatric aides and technicians often: 

·         Help patients bathe, dress, and eat.

·         Escort patients to and from wards or clinics.

·         Aid or restrain patients.

·         Help with orientation and housekeeping.

·         Interview patients and families.

·         Observe patients and report their actions to professionals.

·         Teach daily living skills.

·         Dispense medications, and engage in educational and recreational activities.

Average Salary: $12,000 - $24,000

Educational Requirements:

Psychiatric aides need not always have a high school diploma or formal training, however most employers prefer that they do.

Psychiatric technicians need a high school diploma and should have taken courses in English and science. A short training course or previous job experience as a psychiatric aide is often also required.

Reflection: I would not like to be a psychiatric aide technician because it does not interest me.

Pharmacist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Pharmacists compound, or prepare, prescriptions written by physicians, dentists, and other practitioners. They review these prescriptions to validate the medication. This can involve weighing, measuring, and mixing drugs. Once the compounds are prepared, pharmacists then dispense them to customers and patients.

Pharmacists answer patients’ and customers’ question about the drugs they are taking and drugs which can be sold over the counter. In some cases, pharmacists are responsible for taking inventory of the drugs on the shelves and ordering any which they are low on.

Pharmacists work in hospitals, clinics, health departments, universities, and grocery, drug and discount stores. Those who work in stores must be aware of the other health supplies available in the store so they do not direct customers in the wrong direction.

Average Salary: $33,000 - $51,000

Educational Requirements:

Students should take the most challenging high school classes (including AP or IB) available in English, science, and math.

All pharmacists must graduate from a college of pharmacy. Most pharmacy schools require applicants to take the Pharmacy College Admissions Test (P-CAT), and some require up to two years of pre-pharmacy education. Other colleges will admit students directly from high school.

Normally it takes at least five years to earn a Pharmacy Degree. It requires at least six years to earn a Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Reflection: I would not like to be a pharmacists because it does not interest me.

Reflection: You have to keep trying until you succeed. Don't give up until you are successful in reaching your goal. For example if you don't understand you're homework, don't just give up. Keep trying and don't give up until it's done and you finish your homework.

Perfusionist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical perfusionists operate circulation equipment during medical situations when it is necessary to temporarily and artificially replace the patient’s circulation or respiratory functions. This occurs during heart surgery and similar operations. Perfusionists also control the temperature of patients during surgery. Their duties include:

·         Operating heart-lung machines

·         Administering some types of anesthesia

·         Administering some types of medication

Average Salary: $50,000

Educational Requirements:

A high school diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry is required to be accepted in perfusionist training programs. Admissions preference is given to students with college science work or experience in respiratory therapy and medical terminology.

Perfusionist training programs are given at academic health centers and medical schools and universities. They emphasize hands-on, practical training. Course length varies, but for the school to be recognized by the American Academy of Cardiac Perfusionists, the curriculum must include the supervised performance of 150 procedures to include 20 pediatric and infant cases.

Reflection: I wouldn’t like to be a perfusionist because it doesn’t interest me.

Reflection: It really doesn't matter how educated, talented, or how smart you are, all you really need is persistence. If you aren't persistent and don't keep insisting and trying, you really won't end up achieving what it is you want to achieve. Although, education and talent do help, you have to keep trying because there will always be someone more talented and more educated than you. For example, if you want to be a really good basketball player, you can't achieve that by just having talent, you need to practice and get better. They are many great players out there and chances are, there's someone better than you. You need to stand out as much as you can and practice often and show that you can become a great player. Persistence will pay off.
