Home Health Aide
Home health aides
work for companies that provide in-home assistance to ill, injured, elderly, or
disabled patients. Their duties include taking the blood pressure, temperature,
and pulse of patients. They help patients get in and out of bed, take baths,
and dress. They also prepare and serve meals and also perform housekeeping
chores like making beds and cleaning rooms.
Average Salary: $8,000 - $18,000
Educational Requirements:
Most employers
prefer that nursing assistants and aides have a high school diploma or GED
certificate. Some vocational schools and community colleges offer training
programs.
Reflection:
I would like to
be a home health aide. I enjoy taking care of people when they’re sick but I wouldn’t
want to do that for the rest of my life.
